Brownfields 2001 Presentations deadline extended to
April 27, 2001

The Brownfields 2001 Conference, to be held September 24-26,
2001 at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago,
Illinois, is seeking work/research-based presentations from
all stakeholders who perform and/or are concerned with the
assessment, cleanup and redevelopment of abandoned, idled or
under used commercial and industrial sites. With a work and
research focus, Brownfields 2001 will encourage and promote
the exchange of information, procedures and techniques
related to the revitalization of brownfields through its
numerous conference sessions and exhibits. If you have
information to help others overcome the challenges
associated with these properties, Brownfields 2001 is the
place for you to present and share your work/research in
order to make a difference.

There are several types of presentations being sought:

Session Speaker

Brownfields 2001 Session Speakers will give a formal
presentation on their work/research during one of many
sessions taking place during the conference. A Speaker is
responsible for preparing to speak for approximately 15
minutes during a 90-minute session. They should also be
ready to answer questions during the last 30 minutes of
their session.

Marketplace of Ideas Facilitator

Marketplace facilitators will lead an informal, 90-minute
roundtable dialogue on a specific brownfields topic. The
purpose of Marketplace of Ideas is to foster idea-sharing
and problem-solving among 20-30 participants. As formal
presentations are not the focus of the MOI, audio-visual
will not be available for these sessions.

Poster Presenter

Poster presenters will create stand-alone visual
representations of their research for display in the central
area of the conference. A scheduled 30-minute availability
session will give presenters the opportunity to speak
one-on-one with participants about their poster content.
(30" X 40" poster size maximum)

Presentations are sought in several Subject Tracks, including:

Brownfields Basics
The nuts & bolts of brownfields redevelopment. What you need
to get started.

Leveraging Resources Through Partnerships
Bringing the right parties to the table for the different
stages of development.

Making It Happen
Practical approaches and solutions to brownfields
challenges.

Creating Value & Sustainability
Learn how brownfields have been prosperously reused: Show
how a new use for a brownfields site has created increased
value for that property and how reuse has resulted in
quality of life improvements for the community.
