Caitlan, I have written about some situations in my newsletter that were not officially "brownfields" but which incorporated some of the cleanup approaches used in many state brownfield and VCP. There was a shopping center in Connecticut that was built on an old industrial site where contaminants are migrating under homes of nearby residences. There is also a Maine residential development that was built next to landfill that was supposed to serve as open space. The developer sold the site and now the "green space" is leaching something into the stormwater retention pond. These are just some examples. You may want to visit my website and review some of the issues from 2000 and 1999 for more information or call me for more details. Larry Lawrence P. Schnapf, Esq.
