IBM favors standard for TCE exposure State policy now subject to change BY TOM WILBER Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin (NY) September 8, 2005 ENDICOTT -- IBM Corp., a prominent stakeholder in the rules governing trichloroethylene (TCE) pollution, favors a regulated standard for TCE exposure rather than a policy guideline that is prone to change and can vary from site to site, a spokesman said Wednesday. "What is important for IBM is a proper standard be established, and we would comply with that," said Todd Martin, a spokesman for the company. The rules, being considered by state and federal environmental and health agencies, influence IBM's efforts to protect residents from a subterranean plume of industrial solvents, including TCE, coming from its former plant on North Street. ...
