KNIGHTLY LAS VEGAS BUSINESS PRESS (NV) January 16, 2006 When Mayor Michael Montandon discusses managing population growth while promoting economic expansion in North Las Vegas, it is a tale of two cities. On the one hand, there is the downtown area with Cheyenne Avenue to the north, Pecos Road to the east, Owens Avenue to the south, and bordered by Commerce Street and Losee Road to the west. Then, there is everything else to the northwest. ... The City of North Las Vegas Planning and Development Department has carved out an 800-acre redevelopment zone that runs along downtown's main roadways and into some residential areas.
