State to order Wyle to test air in homes NORCO: Officials find cracks in the bedrock that serve as conduits for the contamination. By PAIGE AUSTIN Riverside Press-Enterprise CA) March 18, 2006 This month, state scientists made major strides in tracking plumes of toxic waste from Wyle Laboratories, prompting unprecedented plans to test inside homes on the streets surrounding the former hazardous-testing facility. Officials with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control plan to unveil their findings at a town hall meeting Tuesday. Most notably, state officials have found cracks in the bedrock below the community that serve as conduits for the pollution to travel from Wyle into the surrounding neighborhood, which includes Norco High, Norco Intermediate and Norco Elementary schools. ...
