Toxic pits still threat in Copley EPA says chemicals from old cleaners in water and soil By Bob Downing Akron Beacon Journal (OH) November 3, 2008A new report by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says toxic chemicals still remain under a former dry-cleaning shop in Copley Township. The document on the Copley Square Plaza at Copley (state Route 162) and Jacoby roads reaffirms what the agency has said for years: There is contamination that is a threat to neighbors and needs to be cleaned up. ...The report will outline the EPA's recommended options for addressing indoor air problems in some of the town houses, nearby private homes and the plaza building. Cleanup options may range from doing nothing to installing small venting systems to solve air-related problems and to restore groundwater. ...
