Information on brownfield projects available in Dolgeville

Information on the work plan for the environmental investigation of the 
former Silvernail/Vaza property and the former Jones/Day property in the 
village of Dolgeville is now available from the New York State 
Department of Environmental Conservation.

"Public understanding and involvement are important to the success of 
New York's Environmental Restoration Program," said Peter Ouderkirk, 
P.E., project manager for the DEC's Region 6 headquarters in Watertown. 
He added that as the projects progress, the DEC and village will 
distribute additional information to keep residents informed, and that 
site documents and fact sheets are currently available for public review 
at the village offices at 41 N. Main St. and the Dolgeville-Manheim 
Public Library at 20 N. Main St.

"The sooner we can get this work completed the better," said Mayor Bruce 
Lyon at a meeting held earlier this month. "When everything is done, 
we'll have two more sites that can be sold and put back on the tax roll. 
Getting these site cleaned up is the best thing for everyone."
