Brownfield sought for former lagoon property By Lisa Gervais New Baltimore Voice December 16, 2009Twelve years after a controversial deal to sell vacant lagoon property was made, the Chesterfield Towne Center site could finally be seeing some development. The Chesterfield Township Board of Trustees Dec. 7 gave their approval for Chesterfield Towne Center, LLC to seek Brownfield Redevelopment Plan to clean up the 174-acres east of 1-94 between Hall and 21 Mile roads. The developer plans a 930,000-square foot mixed-use center anchored by a convention center and entertainment village. Trustee Cheryl Printz said this is the first step in developing the land. Chesterfield Towne Center, LLC has already received approval from the township's planning commission for a PUD (planned unit development). ...
