Neenah lands $700,000 brownfield grant for mill site

NEENAH - The city has secured a $700,000 grant from the state Department 
of Commerce to help pay for the redevelopment of the former Glatfelter 
paper mill site in downtown Neenah.

The Community Development Authority will apply the Blight Elimination 
and Brownfield Redevelopment grant to the excavation and capping of the 
industrial property. The money also will fund sewer work, power line 
relocation, stormwater management and street reconstruction.

"The Glatfelter mill redevelopment project will transform a blighted 
industrial property into an economically vibrant, waterfront commercial 
and mixed-use center," Mayor George Scherck said.
