Niagara Motors brownfield site plan proposed By JOHN MACKOWIAK DUNKIRK EVENING OBSERVER (NY) March 22, 2010Developing on brownfields can be a "lucrative" endeavor in terms of tax credits, according to Martin Doster, a regional environmental remediation engineer for the state Department of Environmental Conservation. ...At a public meeting, DEC engineers met with city officials to inform them of what's next for the Niagara Motors brownfield. After a long investigation into contamination levels, the DEC has prepared a Proposed Remedial Action Plan. "The majority of the site contamination is limited to the surface soils at the site, which is a good thing when it comes time to look at different remedies," said William Murray, a DEC environmental engineer.
