Chicopee gets more Brownfield Redevelopment Fund money for Uniroyal, 
Facemate clean-up

CHICOPEE - MassDevelopment has released an additional $300,000 in funds 
from the state’s Brownfield Redevelopment Fund for two cleanup projects 
at the Uniroyal-Facemate site, according to the mayor’s office.

Mayor Michael D. Bissonnette announced the news earlier this week, 
outlining the work to be done. Corporate Environmental Advisors Inc. of 
West Boylston will be awarded a contract to complete removal of three 
underground storage tanks at the site.

The tanks - one is 240,000 gallons and the other two are 20,000 gallons 
- had been used to store No. 6 fuel oil when the site was still in 
operation.
