Rittman frustrated over lack of clean-up cooperation By BOBBY WARREN Wooster Daily Record (OH) January 26, 2011RITTMAN -- The city manager would like to do something about cleaning up a brownfield area where Caraustar Industries once operated, returning it to productive use, but he has not received any cooperation from company officials. City Manager Larry Boggs recently attended a brownfield conference, and he discovered he was a situation unfamiliar to other attendees. During each session he attended, Boggs would ask about what to do when a company will not work together to resolve the issue. Everyone else with whom Boggs spoke reported the companies were working with them. In light of his discoveries, Boggs told council members Monday he believes he has gone as far as he can go on the matter without bringing in a professional with expertise in environmental issues, either an attorney or consultant. ...
