Montana Department of Environmental Quality Wants Smurfit-Stone to  
Delay Frenchtown Sale

MISSOULA, Mont. -- The Department of Environmental Quality wants  
Smurfit-Stone to delay its sale of the Frenchtown Mill, just west of  
Missoula, to make sure there is not any contaminated soil on the land.

Smurfit closed the paper mill last year. Just days ago, the company  
announced it had a deal with a Northwest business that planned to  
turn the mill into scrap.
