Panel Discussion at Brownfields Conference

 

The EPA Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) launched the Community Engagement Initiative (CEI) to help communities more effectively participate in government decisions related to land cleanup, emergency preparedness and response, and the management of hazardous substances and waste.

 

To learn about the progress of the CEI, you are invited to attend a panel discussion led by EPA OSWER Assistant Administrator, Mathy Stanislaus, entitled “Connecting with Communities:  Valuing Local Knowledge and Participation in EPA Cleanup, Emergency Response and Waste Management Programs.” The panel discussion will be held at the Brownfields Conference in Philadelphia on April 5 from 10:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 

 

Over the next few weeks, OSWER will be releasing several CEI draft documents for public review, including:

• Work Plans to Improve Community Engagement in OSWER Processes
• Draft Recommendation Reports on:
• Enhancing Technical Assistance to Communities
• Improving Delivery of information
• Assessment of Superfund Information Repositories
• Community Engagement Training for EPA personnel
