Fellsmere manager likes brownfield program, under different name By Henry A. Stephens TCPalm (FL) April 7, 2011FELLSMERE - City Manager Jason Nunemaker proposed Thursday adopting the state's Brownfield Redevelopment Program — but without the pollution associations the name often carries. Instead, he said, the new city program would be called the Fellsmere Economic Enhancement District, or FEED, which he said recalls the city's agricultural roots. "I want to get away from the (usual) concept of brownfields," he told the City Council. Designation as a brownfield is most visible as a way to get money from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for cleanup and management of former waste sites across the country.
