Branchburg sues homeowner refusing to close well and connect to

Written by Sergio Bichao My Central Jersey October 14, 2011BRANCHBURG - The water flowing through the pipes and faucets of Stanley and Teresa Chrapowicki's home comes from their own private well. The water, tested annually for contaminants, has proven clean and clear for the last 21 years. But the township now wants the couple to close their well and connect to a public water line - and officials are taking the homeowners to court to force them to do so. The problem, township officials concede, is not the Chrapowicki's well, which they acknowledge is clean. The problem is that a few years ago some of their neighbors' wells turned up dangerous amounts of a potentially cancer causing chemical. ...
