Rittman eyes partnership on brownfield redevelopment

RITTMAN -- City leaders would like to have a say in how the former  
Caraustar site is developed, so they are considering entering into an  
agreement with the new owners.

Hull & Associates established a limited liability company, Urban  
Renewables II, and purchased 10 parcels, totalling nearly 298 acres,  
for a redevelopment project at the Caraustar property.

When Vice President Brad White talked about the project at a March  
council meeting, he said with Hull's business model, sometimes the  
company acts as a consultant, sometimes it takes on a partner, there  
are some deals where it cleans up an industrial parcel and delivers  
to new owners a shovel-ready site and it also owns and operates some  
projects.
