Oroville begins soil preparation for senior housing project By BARBARA ARRIGONI Oroville Mercury-Register (CA) May 23, 2013 OROVILLE - Activity is underway this week to do final testing of soil to make way for construction later this summer of a senior housing project in Oroville. Soil is being collected and tested on property at 1511 Robinson St., where Petaluma Ecumenical Properties, or PEP Housing, plans to build the Orange Tree Senior Housing Apartments. The now vacant and fenced property once housed the Oroville Curran Hospital, which was built in 1915 and closed in the '60s. The Vega Institute acquired it in 1982 and operated a residential holistic health center. It was sold to the city in 2005. The buildings were demolished last year as a condition of the sale to PEP Housing. … For the entire article, see http://www.orovillemr.com/news/ci_23305676/oroville-begins-soil-preparation-senior-housing-project -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center 278-A Hope Street Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650-961-8918 or 650-969-1545 Fax: 650-961-8918 LSiegel@cpeo.org http://www.cpeo.org _______________________________________________ Brownfields mailing list Brownfields@lists.cpeo.org http://lists.cpeo.org/listinfo.cgi/brownfields-cpeo.org | |
