PG&E work begins at old gas plant site By BARBARA ARRIGONI Oroville Mercury-Register (CA) February 12, 2014OROVILLE - For the next few months, people can expect to see some parking closures and heavy equipment as contractors for PG&E begin work on a project to remediate an old gas manufacturing plant site on Montgomery Street. Some preparation work will begin today and during the rest of the week.Drilling and other activity will start Monday and continue intermittently through early April, said PG&E spokesman Paul Moreno in a phone call Tuesday. The work is part of the utility's investigation toward cleaning up any environmental problems that may remain from the old plant. PG&E operated a manufactured gas plant at the site from 1878 to 1926. ...
