Pompton Lakes citizens group blasts EPA over DuPont site By Leslie Scott Suburban Trends (NJ) July 6, 2014The continued talks between DuPont and federal and state environmental officials to modify the work plan for the company's local contamination site has upset the local group the Citizens for a Clean Pompton Lakes (CCPL). In May, the local Community Advisory Group (CAG) sent a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region II Administrator Judith Enck requesting that the work plan not be modified. In a response to the CAG's letter, EPA official Perry Katz wrote, "The EPA and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) are currently reviewing DuPont's draft of the 2014 vapor intrusion work plan. Once EPA and DEP complete their review, any changes to DuPont's vapor intrusion program will be communicated to the community by EPA, DEP and DuPont." ...
