Former hospital to return to tax rolls; Guthrie to seek tax relief By Jeffery Smith Corning Leader (NY) April 29. 2015CORNING - The vacant former Corning Hospital site, assessed for $5 million, is expected to be back on the city tax rolls in early 2016, but steps will be taken to lower the tax bill on the 176 E. Denison Parkway site. Rhonda Darling, city assessor, said the nearly 8-acre site will be put on the city tax roll March 1, 2016. Phil Roche, Corning Hospital board chairman, said Guthrie, which owns the site, will do one of two things to lower the assessment before then. "We will apply for a revision in value or, more likely, seek a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) on the site as a property under development at that point. A PILOT is a negotiated value and tax structure agreement." ...
