Wooster demolishing former auto repair garage to clean up site for future development

WOOSTER − Crews were tearing down Tire Centers Inc. auto repair garage at 517 E. Liberty St. It is the first step on the road to decontaminating the gasoline-polluted property.

Once the structure is demolished, Wooster Economic Development Coordinator Jonathan Millea said crews will dig additional recovery wells, expose the polluted subsoil to the open air and monitor the property to confirm the pollution is gone.
