NSCS Land Plans in Works but BRAC Not FinalHeather Jensen WNEG-TV 32 (Northeast Georgia) August 17, 2005 The Navy Supply Corps School is on the Defense Department's cut list. That news brought sadness and anger last May. But a group of county, city, business, and community leaders are now looking at the possible closure as an opportunity. “Once we accepted the fact that the Navy school was going to be closed, and that's still not a foregone conclusion,” says Athens-Clarke County Commissioner David Lynn. “The great thing about Navy school is that it's an in-town jewel.” ...
