Treasure Island chief may be fired
Hall's bookkeeping, management of funds questioned

Tony Hall, the embattled chief of Treasure Island who has been feuding
publicly with Mayor Gavin Newsom and other city officials, could be
fired from his post next week.

The seven-member board of directors that oversees the Treasure Island
Development Authority -- all mayoral appointees -- will consider Hall's
"possible termination" at its meeting Wednesday, according to an agenda
made public Friday.

The move comes three weeks after city Controller Ed Harrington called
into question Hall's bookkeeping practices and management of public
funds on the island.
