Hardin awaits BRAC decision on Reserve centerBy DOMINIC ADAMS Lima News (OH) July 23, 2006 KENTON - Hardin County is inching closer to alleviating its cramped quarters and moving offices into a former Reserve center. Commissioner Russell Ludwig said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has to clear the Jacob Parrott Army Reserve Center in Kenton. "They just have to make sure the ground has no contaminants that would be detrimental," he said. Hardin County wants the center transferred over by the Army so it can be used as an emergency management facility. The Reserve center landed on the Defense Department's Base Closure and Realignment list in May 2005, and 10 jobs were lost. ...
