BRAC report takes look at repercussions By AARON BRAND Texarkana Gazette January 14, 2006 (TX) In response to projected Red River Army Depot and Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant job losses through the 2005 base closure process, The North East Texas Workforce Development Board is spearheading an effort to organize a response. Over the past three months, the workforce board has been creating what's called the North East Texas Community Plan in Response to 2005 BRAC Actions. "In response to the closure, the U.S. Department of Labor released National Emergency Grant funds to begin addressing the economic impact of the base closure in our area and to begin planning to aid the community," said Kay O'Dell, executive director of the workforce board. ...
