Army, Indians show interest in Navy base One eyes Ingleside property; other, equipment By Fanny S. Chirinos Corpus Christi Caller-Times TX) March 9, 2006 The Army and a New Mexico Indian tribe have expressed interest in acquiring land and equipment at Naval Station Ingleside when it closes. Both have until March 23 to provide detailed information to the Navy about what they want and why. The Army is inquiring about 15 acres and the Cochiti Pueblo near Santa Fe wants equipment and supplies. Both responded after the Navy last month sent a Notice of Availability to federal and defense department agencies. The letter announced the realignment and closure of naval facilities as a result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure round and the available property at each facility. ...
