State panel sees composites as key to BNAS futureSeth Koenig Brunswick Times Record (ME) October 11, 2006 BATH — If director Mike Nichols were to remake the classic 1967 film, "The Graduate," using members of the Governor's Advisory Council as a cast, he would have to rewrite the part of the script in which the businessman touts "plastics" as the next market meteor with, "Composites, there's a great future in composites." At Tuesday's meeting of the Governor's Advisory Council, most everyone agreed that the composites industry should be one of the major focuses of redevelopment at Brunswick Naval Air Station after the Navy leaves in 2011. The rest of what the council's subcommittees offered for recommendations, though, will need some fine-tuning leading into the Governor's Advisory Council's Nov. 14 meeting, at which it hopes to finalize recommendations for Gov.
