Contemplate what you'd like to see - if you had your druthers. Your government already has. From the southern boundary with Tinton Falls to the northern boundary with Shrews-bury, this borough may never be the same. Plans already are afoot to change it. On the south: 42 acres of surplus military housing — some dilapidated, all abandoned — could be changed into a mix of condominiums and retail. On the north, a 52,000-square-foot Army command building, complete with indoor and outdoor theaters, could become the new municipal complex. Between the two, 21 acres of anemic downtown could be turned into townhouses, retail and village green, if conceptual plans translate into reality. ...
