Town planner an outsider in BNAS process Rachel Ganong Brunswick Times Record (ME) March 12, 2007 BRUNSWICK - Two planning entities, one town.It's a combination intended to yield one cohesive plan stitching Brunswick Naval Air Station to the rest of Brunswick when the Navy leaves in 2011. But how that happens hinges on the planning efforts of the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority - the entity charged with planning the future of BNAS - and, among other groups, the town's planning department - the entity charged with planning the future of the town. Their respective missions would seem to necessitate interaction, and such interactions are evident in the number of communities that marry their local redevelopment authorities with town planning and development departments. Brunswick has chosen not to do that, however, a situation that leaves Town Planner Theo Holtwijk wondering about his role in the BNAS reuse planning process. ...
