Energy gurus tout BNAS 'Eco-plex' Seth Koenig Brunswick Times Record (ME) May 23, 2007BRUNSWICK - A panel of energy experts Tuesday night urged local planners to create a renewable energy "Eco-plex" on Brunswick Naval Air Station land to lure "green, clean" industrial development to the Mid-coast region. Discussion of a "Power Park" at the base, which will be redeveloped in 2011 upon the Navy's departure, ranged from windmills to hydrogen to campus-wide "district energy" at a Topical Issue Seminar hosted by the Brunswick Local Redevelopment Authority. Tuesday night's forum was the final of four such events held by the authority at Brunswick High School's Crooker Theater. The previous seminars dealt with the base closure's effect on the area housing market, potential for aviation-related uses for base property and the ongoing environmental cleanup of the property, respectively. ...
