BRAC's road cost here put at $2 billion

The study about local economic and transportation effects of the 
Pentagon job transfers, covered in this space last week, makes it clear 
that more and wider roads will be needed to meet increasing traffic demands.

The answer of how to do that is easy: It will take money. Lots of money.

How much money? How does $2 billion sound?

That's what the Metropolitan Planning Organization, which sets road 
priorities, heard last week when presented an overview of the study 
conducted by the University of Alabama's Center for Business and 
Economic Research.
