Seeking BRAC SolutionsKEITH M. EASTIN, Assistant Secretary of the Army, Installations and Environment Letter to the editor, Washington Post August 1, 2007I would like to clarify some points related to the July 26 news story "Army-Va. Deal Cuts Jobs Headed for Belvoir," about plans to move some workers up the road to a General Services Administration site in Springfield instead of to Fort Belvoir. Overlooked was the Army's flexibility in seeking solutions to carry out Base Realignment and Closure plans for the Fort Belvoir area. Point one: It must be emphasized that the BRAC law will not change. The only potential change is the addition of property to the Fort Belvoir reservation to accommodate part of the workforce moving there. ...
