Miron impresses at Big Deal conference RICHARD WEIZEL Connecticut Post October 19, 2007STRATFORD - A much-anticipated bidder's conference in Hartford to begin the process of selling the sprawling former Army engine plant on Main Street is still a month away. But that didn't stop Mayor James R. Miron and Army officials from trying to drum up interest in the 78-acre property at a National Brownfield Association conference in Chicago the past two days. The engine plant property, like so-called brownfields across the nation, is contaminated by industrial operations that took place on the site. The mayor said the bidder's conference on the engine plant property is scheduled for Nov. 15 in Hartford. Miron, meanwhile, manned a booth at the Navy Pier conference center on Lake Michigan during the National Brownfield Association's "The Big Deal" exhibition Tuesday and Wednesday. ...
