Federal grant to help determine land use at Army support center

The Kelly Center Local Redevelopment Authority, established more than a 
year ago to help determine the best way to reuse the Army’s Charles E. 
Kelly Support Center land once it is vacated, recently received a grant 
for up to $225,000 from the federal Office of Economic Adjustment.

The money will be used as part of a study into what should be done with 
the 146 acres of land in Collier and Neville townships that will lapse 
back to those communities once the facility is closed as of Sept. 30, 
2009, under the federal Base Realignment and Closure Commission process.
