At Fort Ord:

It is planned to have about 1000 acres of the dunes conveyed to
State Parks. The BLM will have 15,000+ acres (inland) which
includes about 8,000 acres of impact zone. In addition, UC
has acquired nearly 1000 acres of which between 500 and 600
acres will be maintained as natural habitat under direction
of UC's natural reserve system.
