CALIFORNIA DSMOA DOLLARS The Department of Defense Cleanup office has reached a decision California's DSMOA (Defense State Memorandum of Agreement) reimbursements, and it is my understanding that California is adjusting its program accordingly. The allocations apply to a Cooperative Agreement covering two years, from July 1, 1996 through June 30, 1998. Calculations are based upon a 2,080-hour year at a cost of $105,000 per person-year. As previously agreed, California received $1,333,333 per month for the nine months from July 1, 1996 through March 31, 1997 - based upon that "burn rate from the previous year. The amount is being reduced in steps, as follows: April, 1997 $1,234,697 May, 1997 $1,136,061 June, 1997 $1,037,425 For the entire year beginning July, 1997, the monthly rate will be $938,788. The two-year total, therefore, will be $26,673,636, 81.7% of which is designated for site-specific activity. Of the remainder, 15% (or about 2.7% of the total) is designated for "Partnering and DSMOA program-wide meetings." Lenny Siegel | |
