Not all bases have Restoration Advisory Boards, or RAB's. The Massachusetts Military Reservation has a number of committees called process action teams reporting to a Senior Management Board. These teams work on groundwater plume containment, long range water supply issues, and program implementation. There are also committees on Public Health and an Impact Area study. All committees have citizens, the military, public officials, and regulators. In any case, a union of the citizen membership of these committees nationwide would bring strength and solidarity to the cause. However, I would not be interested in organizing for the paid membership of of the RAB's--the military, regulators, and officials. It is the people who need the help. | |
