Peter, Hopefully this response will address your question. Federal Facilities have been required to report releases and transfers of hazardous materials subject to the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) since 1994. If you have any questions about the reported data, the TRI expert in my office is Will Garvey who may be reached via e-mail at: "garvey.will@epamail.epa.gov". Some background information on this reporting requirement: On August 3, 1993, President Clinton signed executive order 12856, "Federal Compliance with Right-To-Know Laws and Pollution Prevention Requirements", the primary objectives of this E.O. are for Federal Facilities to: * Develop pollution prevention plans to reduce toxic releases by 50%; * Collect and report date on the quantity of hazardous materials stored, used, and released at the facility; * Ensure public access to use and release information You may call the TRI hotline @ 1-800-424-9346 for web sites of data available to the public.
