I agree on the importance of getting oral histories from current and former base workers (especially former, since the unsafe disposal practices were usually stopped before many of the current workers were around). At March AFB (California), the oral histories were one of the first steps in the IRP process, and they provided very valuable information. Many of the site histories have words like "reported" and "reportedly," indicating that the accounts from base workers were the starting point for the site investigation.
