By Dave Ranney, Journal-World Writer DeSoto -- Robert Kory, the man behind the proposed Wizard of Oz theme park, was in DeSoto on Tuesday, hoping to soothe area residents' worries that the project is ill-conceived and poorly financed. "I am here to earn the privilege of calling DeSoto home," Kory said, addressing about 80 people -- skeptics, mostly -- at a public forum sponsored by the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce. The project, he said, has been heartily endorsed by nationally known theme-park developers and will have little trouble attracting entertainment-industry investors.
