Hello, Regarding the ICMA Military Communities Consortium (MCC) described here: "MCC, along with ICMA's other military programs, support local government officials by working to strengthen the relationship between the military and the community. Local governments and installations benefit from having the resources and knowledge about future land use planning, best management practices, technical assistance, information sharing, and environmental problem solving to make informed decisions. Additionally, ICMA is committed to laying the foundation for mutually beneficial exchanges of resources and nowledge to further promote professional management and the benefits that come from having well-run, well-organized local governments and military installations." Is this a new capability/project? How is it supposed to work? Is the MCC in active contact with local governments near military sites? Are local non-profits assisting/included in notifications? This sounds like an admirable project. Let's hope there is some correspondence between ICMA and local groups as well as the United States Army Management Staff College (AMSC). It is our belief that many community groups don't have the capacity to stay engaged with local military organizations, because of all the other activities in need of attendance. Help lends hope!
