Source: Camp Ripley LITTLE FALLS -- In a land of postage-stamp lake lots, Camp Ripley is a rare natural behemoth -- 53,000 acres of rolling hills, forests and winding rivers. Military officials are joining with environmental groups to preserve a three-mile protective zone around the camp to make sure development doesn't threaten the camp's operations. As more Minnesotans are called up to serve overseas, Camp Ripley's importance as a training facility is growing. Military officials hope to avoid the experience of bases in other states that have had to limit or reduce training operations because of complaints from nearby residents. ... for the entire story, see http://miva.sctimes.com/miva/cgi-bin/miva?CMN/Local/read.mv+20040425034715+1+ -- Lenny Siegel Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight c/o PSC, 278-A Hope St., Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650/961-8918 or 650/969-1545 Fax: 650/961-8918 <lsiegel@cpeo.org> http://www.cpeo.org =========================================================== Need to find the right school to fit your needs CollegeInformation.info has already found it.
