Nike testing reveals underground storage tank

As discussions continue on the possible dumping of fill at the Nike site
by Ridge Hill, more testing done by the town discovered an underground
storage tank at the property, according to officials.

The tank was intact with no visible signs of leaking, said John Connelly
of the Permanent Public Building Committee. There was some fuel left in
the tank, and the procedure will be followed to have the tank removed.

The discovery followed a debate in letters between neighbors of the Nike
site and town officials.
