DPW water tests show all is well By Elizabeth Malloy Marshfield Mariner (MA) August 24, 2005 The water is safe and the fireworks are a go. This was the decision from Marshfield Selectmen last week after hearing the results of a test for chemicals in a well near the Marshfield Fairgrounds. "There's no empirical data suggesting it's warranted to stop the fireworks," Selectman Michael Maresco said. "Right now we need more testing." Board of Public Works commissioners had raised concerns the fireworks could increase the amount of perchlorate - a potentially dangerous chemical - in a well near the Fairgrounds. Recent tests showed a spike in perchlorate in that well following the Fourth of July fireworks display held there. ...
