Kingsville, Navy to study avoiding encroachment Kleberg County to vote on request for $100K to examine the issue By Fanny S. Chirinos Corpus Christi Caller-Times (TX) February 8, 2006 Kingsville and the Defense Department are studying the directions the city can grow without encroaching on the Navy's future needs. Richard Tenga, project manager with the Defense Department's Office of Economic Adjustment, met last week with city and Kleberg County officials to discuss the city's development and how it would affect Naval Air Station Kingsville. The City Commission plans to vote Monday on a resolution supporting the study, said City Attorney Courtney Alvarez. Kleberg County commissioners plan to vote next week on a resolution asking the Office of Economic Adjustment for a $100,000 grant to conduct the study, said County Judge Pete De La Garza. ...
