Town deems neighborhood safe By Patricia Bertuccio Acton Beacon (MA) February 8, 2007ACTON — Levels of perchlorate in an East Acton neighborhood’s well are now down to safe levels, but residents and town officials disagree about the resolution. After a water test in October last year, results showed concentration of perchlorate in nine wells on Flagg, Brabrook and Pope roads at 0.2 parts per billion, well below the threshold rate of 2 parts per billion, as regulated by the state Department of Environmental Protection. While residents are glad that their water no longer poses a health risk, some said the problem is not yet solved. They want to be reimbursed for the other two rounds of water testing they performed earlier in 2005. The estimated cost of the test is about $130 per round. ...
