Unity vs. toxic mess

Concerns about underground perchlorate contamination in the region has 
sparked a move to form a multi-agency effort to lobby for federal 
dollars to clean up the toxic mess.

A proposed joint powers authority, or JPA, would include representatives 
from key cities dealing with the toxic chemicals percolating groundwater 
underneath.

The JPA would include Colton, Rialto and San Bernardino County, and at 
least two water agencies, West Valley Water District and Fontana Union 
Water Co.
