Perchlorate in Highland and what's being done By Charles Roberts Highland Community News (CA) February 28, 2008 There are measurable traces of perchlorate in half a dozen water wells in the East Valley Water District, which serves Highland and portions of San Bernardino, but only two have water at or above the six parts per billion limit the state has imposed on water districts. One of those wells is down for repairs, leaving only one that poses any threat to the local water supply. The water supply is regularly tested by independent laboratories and under rules adopted by the East Valley Water District, will immediately notify the water district and the Health Department if the perchlorate level exceeds six parts per billion. ...
