BRAC pack eyes north Baltimore Charles Village invites transplants to live here By Larry Perl Baltimore Messenger (MD) April 16, 2008 Nicholas Palmer, 23, and his fiancee, Kristen Meister, 22, have the rest of their lives ahead of them -- and the Baltimore area in their immediate future. They also have north and northeast Baltimore in their sights as areas where they might like to live. Palmer, a civilian computer expert for the Army at Fort Monmouth, N.J., is awaiting his official transfer to Aberdeen Proving Ground as part of the federal government's Base Realignment and Closure process, or BRAC. Meister is a senior at Lehigh University, majoring in psychology. They were among 500 BRAC-affected families who boarded buses from New Jersey and Virginia to Baltimore on April 11 to size up the city and its 225 neighborhoods. Many of them work in the computer sciences and information technologies industries. ...
